Shane Claiborne, Executing Grace: How the Death Penalty Killed Jesus and Why It’s Killing Us

Shane Claiborne, author of the forthcoming book Executing Grace: How the Death Penalty Killed Jesus and Why It’s Killing Us,  will be speaking at Calvin College on Monday evening, March 7, in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.

This is a free and open to the public event, so come early to be sure to get a seat.

Shane Claiborne is a prominent author, speaker, activist, and founding member of the Simple Way. He is one of the compilers of Common Prayer, a new resource to unite people in prayer and action. Shane is also helping develop a network called Friends Without Borders which creates opportunities for folks to come together and work together for justice from around the world. His most recent book is Red Letter Revolution, which he co-authored with Tony Campolo. – See more at:

Also at this forum on the death penalty, CRCNA Restorative Justice study group (2004-5) member Gail Rice will share from her perspective as the sister of someone who was murdered. Two other presenters are introduced on the attached poster.  Heather Beaudoin, Equal Justice USA organizer, will moderate the panel presentation and time of questions from the audience.
